Never touch a squirrel's nuts
I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Beej last night. It was a very entertaining movie, thanks to another great performance by Johnny Depp, and very good directing by Tim Burton. The selection of Freddie Highmore (who played Charlie) was also perfect. Of course, I haven't seen the original (which was a 1971 film), so I don't know much about the plot, but I was drawn to the story in the beginning because of the varying characteristics of the five "lucky" children. I think it represents the different "behaviors" of children -- eating (a lot), spoiled, highly competitive, violent, addicted to games... ;) All in all, I would call the film a "children's feel good movie" -- it's funny, entertaining, and has a happy ending.
