I'm sort of lucky to have had "only" five godchildren so far (am not sure about my English -- basta, inaanak. hehe.). ;-) It just seems that choosing godparents nowadays has started to lean towards the practicality side (what job does he/she have, how much is he/she earning, etc.) rather than on the true function and responsibilities of being a godparent -- which, to me is about becoming the second father/mother of the child. Don't get me wrong -- I'm happy to have been chosen as godfather of my inaanaks: (written here for my future recall, hehe)
1. Seane - daughter of Dex
2. Angelina - daughter of Rannie (aka Sumpit)
3. Ashiel - daughter of my cousin Albert
4. Ali - son of my cousin Kakai
5. Bryan Sebastian - son of Sid & Liza
I just hope that when the time comes when I'll be asked to fulfill my "real" duties as godfather, that I'd be able to do them properly and responsibly, and that I won't just be someone who sheds out presents and pesos during Christmas. ;)
