Summer preps

That's Mama talking with Tito Benjie, Tita Hermie, Ryo, Daddy, & Mommy in Edmonton (Bea is on screen) via YM voice chat with video. Hi-tech na si Mama! Hehe. :)

On with the updates...

During the past month, I've been a regular visitor of Manila Doctors' Hospital because of my chronic cough. I've gone through a CT scan, chest x-ray, spirometry, and endoscopy, not to mention the numerous doctor consultations (ENT, pulmonologist, gastroenterologist), and large variety of medicine that I've ingested (nasal spray, anti-sinusitis, anti-allergy, anti-acid reflux, antibiotic... the works). Thank God for staff health insurance! Anyway, I'm still not well (and there's indication that this might be permanent), although I feel that I'm getting some response with my most recent batch of medication. I do hope that this gets resolved soon, as I'm starting to doubt if modern medicine can cure me -- and I don't want to be sick while on the beach -- and my wallet's getting thinner by the day.

Last week, my friend Sid was finally able to move on to much greener pastures. The WPRO gang gave him a farewell lunch at Caffe Milano last Wednesday (it's been a long time since I've seen so much pizza and pasta in one table), and the EPI gang gave him a despedida lunch as well, at Tia Maria's last Thursday (zombie at noon!). See you at NB EB's, dude. ;-)

Hehe, wala si Sid sa picture. ;)

Last Friday, after another last minute decision, Beej and I went with Kateh and Pinky to watch Somnambulism/Huling Ensayo Para Sa Iyo at Koiné. I hope some of my French classmates watch Somnam -- it was really funny... and unique. Huling Ensayo was a nice bonus (kinda weird how I could "relate" to it, in one way or another) -- although it was just "borderline nakakaiyak" according to the girls. (Happy birthday Mah. Hehehe...)

Last Saturday, Papa and I took Lindsey to the casa at Abad Santos. Once again with the help of his kumpare Nesty, we made sure that Lindsey would be ready for the upcoming summer (and the corresponding outings). Here's the rundown -- replaced tie rod end, fixed rear brakes, replaced water reservoir cap, removed washer nozzle clog, engine tune-up, wheel alignment -- among other things. Now, I'm really looking forward to my first ever long drive. ;) Beach and sand, here we go! (Sidenote: During lunch time, we made a detour at Ted's La Paz Batchoy @ SM San Lazaro -- the "Extra Super" was really good, although I think it was a little expensive for the serving size.)

Finally, of course in "preparation" for summer, Beej didn't let the opportunity pass -- and we went summer shopping last Sunday. And it wasn't the usual malling -- I do mean shopping. We were at Market Market from 10:30 AM until 8:30 PM (there was a screening of Basic Instinct 2 in the middle. ;-) ). I finally gave in and bought a new pair of Vans shoes (first pair I bought in a looong time), among other "necessary" stuff for summer. ;-)
