In sickness and in health

When your doctor easily recognizes you without even looking at the medical card, it's either you're a relative or you're a regular patient. Unfortunately, I'm not even the neighbor of any of Dr. Zano's relatives, so when my doctor saw me in the new, relocated WPRO clinic and greeted me with a *pleasant* "Hello Benj... ang pasyente kong ubo nang ubo", that was like shouting to me that I've been visiting him quite often. :( I've been given a 'sort-of' clean bill of health as far as ENT is concerned, so the cause of my chronic cough is now most probably down to one of two things -- my 'mild' GERD, or some kind of allergy. In other words, if I was really determined to get rid of this annoying 'habit', I would have to visit a fourth specialist -- this time, an allergologist. :(

There is obviously a common theme to this post, because on the other hand, I've been quite busy lately supporting Beej and her family in their most recent "test" -- her father had an angioplasty and bypass surgery. Fortunately, things are now starting to become better -- Tito Jimmy is now recovering. Thanks a lot for everyone's prayers.

But wait, there's more. That's not all the health updates that I have. Beej ain't exactly healthy either. She's having tests done next week for her stomach aches.

We also found out (during the latest Cifra chat session) that Mommy is not feeling that well either. Her hip is hurting and she's not feeling good as a whole. We're thinking that perhaps she's having a hard time adjusting to the weather in Edmonton.

Tita Sion, who we visited in DLSU Cavite Hospital, is not well either. In fact, we're visiting her again tomorrow, as there's news that she might not make it for long. :(

Funny how even in the TV shows I've been watching recently, health is also a central theme -- Bruce was 'medevac'ed' out of Survivor Exile Island; BJ almost had a sunstroke in AR; Lex was almost killed in Smallville (ok, that one was obvious); Cartman almost died because of greed (this one too, hehe); even Logan in Gilmore Girls had a collapsed lung or something.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just panicking, but I think something's wrong. I don't like this trend... at all.

Happy first anniversary, blog.
